Scenic Root 'The Forager' 2015 Chardonnay USA Sette Vigne a pleasant saline and blackGrapes sourced (foraged) from two vineyards about 4 miles from the Pacific. A combo of French oak and stainless steel yields a wine that is crisp and clean at first: smell and taste green apple, fresh lemon wedge and steely minerality; followed closely behind by just a bit of buttery richness: brioche, lemon custard and a hint of vanilla. Acidic edge is tamed by textural creaminess. We think its a lovely bridge between the two styles.
