Hailing from the dry regions of Central Turkey to 9,000' elevation, Scutellaria salviifolia is usually found in open clearings among fir pine forests. For us, it forms a 1' tall x 2' wide patch, clothed in pinkie sized quilted green leaves, and topped, starting for us in mid April with short stalks for small butter yellow flowers. Although
