2021 Mixtura Blue Tinto (Mencia), Castilla y Leon, Spain Smallfry eight months’ aging in 80%100% Menca from a 60 year old plot in Cacabelos, rooted in pebbly, iron rich clay. Fermented with native yeasts and whole bunches in small neutral barrels, then aged for a year in a large Austrian oak foudre from Stockinger. Just 3,319 bottles madeand easily one of the most refined, quietly powerful expressions of Menca weve tasted from Bierzo.
