Sonia Wallpaper - Paris (wide width) La Bermeja Layers of palmsThe design for Sonia began as a commission and the suggested palette of pinks, reds and blues immediately brought to my mind a favourite painting Finlandaise by Sonia Delaunay (1908) a portrait with a beautifully bold floral background in similar colours. My design celebrates the flowering shrubs Camellia and Magnolia with a free and boldly painted approach to echo the French modernist movement that Delaunay became synonymous with. It was a pleasure
