Numanthia Vintage:2001 this is a packed effort

this is a packed effort with loads of fruit and tannin that will require a minimum of 8-10 years to become approachable

This will need to develop better depth to merit the upper end of my projected range

this is a vintage to put away and forget for at least 5-6 years

but this is still very attractive

followed by a note of black tea on the finish

Numanthia Vintage:2001 this is a packed effortDark violet. Spicy dark berry aromas are complicated by orange peel, cinnamon and clove. Medium bodied black raspberry and cassis flavors are given an exotic accent by Asian spices and violet pastille. The silky tannins are almost overwhelmed by the wine's spicy fruit. Finishes brisk and long, with an echo of cracked pepper. Josh Raynolds
