from a dealer in Maine

though I personally might opt to hang it from a different orientation

I do like just looking at these a bundle of possibilities; words and numbers yet to be written. I come across these now and then but I've never seen ones wrapped in gold, which makes them extra lovely and special feeling. c. 1870s. Approx 6 7 16" long. Sold as a set. In excellent condition.
