I have a feeling Fancher repurposed the watercolor Chicks for Sale sign in order to make his athletics illustration

by French astronomer Warren de la Rue during the total solar eclipse in 1860--and how beautiful they are

and very much to beautifully inked calligraphic lettering too--so of course I jumped on this one

with collaged images and clippings and very carefully handwritten text all carefully arranged and commenting on one another
