really quite an evocative thing

C. 1900 Painting of Boaters on Souvenir Paddle michael lambert though I suppose it's notA little loss to the bottom edge of this pine wood paddle, but I thought the little oil painting of two boaters on it too charming to leave behind. I believe this dates to the late 19th early 20th century and would have been a souvenir purchased at a vacation spot, clearly somewhere on the water! In addition to the transportive view, I love the self referential nature of it, especially a miniature painting of a paddle on a paddle. 16 1 16" l x 3 13
