Portrait of a gentleman of the Chester family Size:L: 90 x 60cm Saturday 14th June 1980Near full length portrait of a gentleman in late middle age, with long natural brown hair, greying, and a white moustache. His dress is relatively plain, apparently in Commonwealth style. He wears a long brown coat, white gloves and white square collar. A sash is worn across the body from his right shoulder and a sword hilt is visible at the left hip, the hand resting lightly above this. His right hand holds a silver cane with a bone or ivory handle.
