through they do look pretty great all four together in a grid I think

no tears or losses just a little toning as evident

9 1/4” t x 5 15/16” w  x 4” d and in good condition

I believe this sampler came from an estate in Newburyport MA with quite a fine collection of antique samplers

Much of what I love about it is that if you look at it one way, as if those orbs at top are eyeballs, it's definitely a frog, but if you perceive the intents closer to the mouth as eyes then I'd swear it's Mickey Mouse, with ears above. Happily, it can be both at once, and wonderfully strange either way, and while I'd guess made as an incense holder I'd just treat it as a head. Signed E. W. on the back, who could have been a
