Fruit essences and mineral salts animate the rich yet delicate palate
The salinity and piquancy are already exciting yet still nervous and youthful—this should be an extremely buoyant Auslese in 20 years
(25% new oak from a mix of 35 and 65 year old vines)
This too is brooding and rather inexpressive just now with somber but ripe berry fruit aromas
this is really quite good
Silver Heights, Emma's Reserve Size:6x750ml Fruit essences and mineral saltsFull bottle a heavy 1,645 g. 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot. Emma Gao's top red. Luscious, subtle mature ruby. Lightly resinous nose and very pleasing, ripe, bordeaux blend nose. Clean and surprisingly fresh for a 15% wine, with light leafiness. Sweet start, no shortage of fresh acidity, this is really very creditable. Just the sort of wine to give to people doubtful about whether China can produce decent wine. Long and very respectable indeed.
