Diving bell used for salvage operations on the wreck of H.M.S.Thetis scandal 27th July 1952Maritime scene showing a diving bell stage or platform suspended from a hawser and cables stretched across the cove at Cape Frio [Cabo Frio] in the State of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, where H. M. S Thetis sank. The platform is manned by members of the crew of H. M. S Algerine, two of whom are operating a fire engine hand pump supplying air to a diving bell. The bell is being lowered through a trap door in the platform and the feet of a diver manning the
