Not sure the origin of these

but I spotted this old one

along with exhibiting regularly and completing a series of public art installations by the Percent for Art program prior to leaving New York

and each link measures about 1 1/2" long

Well Knocked Around Old Wire Jointed Man with Red Stockings and Large Hands ceramic figure on horse no missing bitsA sweet old painted, wire jointed figure, who looks rather French to me, and who I love most of all for those large hands with black paint against oyster white detailing each of his fingers. Perhaps there were once strings running through the wire loops at his joints that tugged at his limbs like a puppet, I am not totally sure. Now, he will balance in various positions on his own, including in a partial headstand! 8 7 8" t x 3 1 4" w arms down x 1".
