The black paint of her hair and brown of her body has aged and worn some highlighting the knife marks of her carving and revealing green undertones in the paint
who in addition to teaching promoted his method of “Semi-Angular” penmanship in a series of copybooks that also contained ornamental exercises

Handmade Crepe Paper Pilgrim (or Nun?) with Pencil Drawn Wooden Face pink lining I don't believe it isNo way could I not bring this little woman home, who I found a few days ago in New Hampshire. At first I took her for a nun, but now I think more likely she was meant to be a pilgrim. Her maker did a pretty brilliant job with her crepe paper dress, especially the almost origami like wrap of her bonnet turning into shawl, knotted in the back. There are pipe cleaners under her sleeves for arms, and a wooden torso, animated with this great pencil drawn
