Antique Carved, Articulated Figure (Minus One Leg!) vintage miniature dice I've found a Joshua PerLee

I've found a Joshua PerLee Shilling (1885-1947) from a long line of Perlees and Shllings in Tuscaraw Township in Stark

3 5/8" across at base

I believe it dates to the first quarter of the 20th c

It's done on a grey paper mounted to board and dated 5/74

and selling for $875

Antique Carved, Articulated Figure (Minus One Leg!) vintage miniature dice I've found a Joshua PerLeeI'm not quite sure the origins of this figure, carved of pine and with limbs connected via wire loops rather than the sorts of carved and pinned joints one typically sees on jig dolls, though he does have a hole in his chest to accommodate a dowel. It seems possible the (heavy duty) steel wire was a later addition, replacing a less durable wire, which didn't keep his right leg holding on very well!
