Exuberant Stalk of Flowers in Dated, Flower Decorated Vase, 1905 Ink and Crayon Drawing, JH Adair, PA metal box tin box ) A deck was sacrificedOne of a couple more today by a young J. H Adair of Spring Grove, PA, c. 1905, which I purchased together; just my sort of drawings. I'll always say yes to an exuberant drawing of a bunch of flowers, especially ones with red stems and purples leaves and green petals! And I particularly love that the vase here was used to draw yet more flowers! A good spot for marking the year, too. Feels heartening to encounter them still blooming 120 years later. 8 3
