Constructed of bronzed magnetic sheet metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dated 1941 1942, the reverse with all four attachment prongs connecting to an original magnetic metal backplate with a replacement green wool liner and black paper backer, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture
