Constructed of gilded and ribbed brass, the exterior bearing a central silvered and blackened 1914 Iron Cross, flanked by clusters of oak leaves, the interior with a plaque bearing an engraved inscription of ERINNERUNG A. D. WELTKRIEG (IN MEMORY OF THE WORLD WAR), opening on a swivel hinge with a functional catch and stabilizing chain, unmarked, measuring 70 mm (w) x 55 mm, a superb example of patriotic jewellery sold to raise money for
