Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, representing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjger (Heer), respectively, topped by an inscription of NARVIK and German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a non magnetic metal backplate with a dark blue wool backer indicating
