This is an extremely well preserved Luftwaffe officers overseas field cap, constructed of ribbed dark grey wool. The cap is surrounded by a fold down panel, the top of which is trimmed with a band of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping, indicating that the cap was upgraded when the owner received a promotion. The peak of the cap is adorned with an insignia in the form of a machine embroidered, silver grey Luftwaffe
