Germany, Luftwaffe. An Officer’s Overseas Field Cap Hold may have been ground dug(Luftwaffe Fliegermtze). This is an extremely well preserved Luftwaffe officers overseas field cap, constructed of ribbed dark grey wool. The cap is surrounded by a fold down panel, the top of which is trimmed with a band of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire piping, indicating that the cap was upgraded when the owner received a promotion. The peak of the cap is adorned with an insignia in the form of a machine embroidered, silver grey Luftwaffe
