Instituted on 25 April 1834 by William VII Duke of Braunschweig. (1910 1918 Issue). A Maltese cross constructed of gilded silver with light blue enamelled arms, with swords crossed through the centre medallion, centre obverse featuring a hand painted white column with a jumping, white horse, over a red enamelled background with gilt border, crowned ring, reverse centre presents a vertical pin assembly, measuring 57. 72 mm
