Portrait of George Fordyce (1736-1802) Size:L: 80 x 60cm 'The Cat that Killed theHalf length portrait of Fordyce wearing a fur trimmed robe and holding in his left hand a volume 'Treatise on Fever'. Trimmed, original inscription on a separate paper slip: 'GEORGE FORDYCE. M: D. F: R: S. Senior Physician of St. Thomas's Hospital.' Inscribed in pencil lower left '1776': George Fordyce was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1776. Original: mezzotint. 1795
