Germany, Imperial. A Naval Wound Badge, Gold Grade United Republic of dated 7 July 1944(Verwundetenabzeichen der Marine in Gold). Constructed of gilded brass, the obverse consisting of an oval chain link wreath, around a central raised anchor overlaid by crossed swords on a pebbled background, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 40. 68 mm (w) x 46. 51 mm (h), weighing 8. 9 grams, in extremely fine condition.
