In silver gilt with violet enamels, maker marked "A. B." (Arthus Bertrand) on the loop, measuring 40. 8 mm (w) x 60. 5 mm inclusive of its wreath suspension, on its full length neck ribbon, edge nicks, contact marks, intact enamels, very fine. Footnote: The Order of Academic Palms was instituted August 8, 1962 and awarded for services to education in three classes: Commander, Officer and Knight.
