Romania, Kingdom. A Military Merit Medal, Ii Class, C.1880 Newly Listed on the 5th of December(Virtutea Militar). Instituted in 1866 by Prince Carol of Romania. Constructed of silvered bronze, a round medal depicting four extra curve arms, probably denoting issue in wartime, the obverse depicting the bust of Carol I surrounded by the inscription CAROL I DOMN AL ROMANIEI (Carlos I King of Romania), reverse inscribed VIRTUTE MILITARA (Military Virtue) circumscribed on a tied oak and laurel wreath, suspended by a detailed laurel wreath
